Hyperloop One's public test today showed us a glimpse of what is in store for future freight and transportation systems. While still in the early stages of development, it is encouraging to see the progress being made.

Their Propulsion Open Air Test (POAT) saw their 1,500 pound aluminum sled sent down the track at 115 mph (185 km/h) with a 0 to 60 mph of 1.1 seconds.

One of Hyperloop One's new partnership is with the large multinational engineering firm, AECOM. The CEO of AECOM, Mike Burke, was reported as saying:

"AECOMs partnership with Hyperloop One has the potential to transform the movement of both people and freight. Our expertise working with cities, building port infrastructure and delivering highly challenging transit projects provides the depth of knowledge essential for safely and effectively developing and maximizing a new mode of transportation."

This is one of the more promising partnerships as we see a greater probability of building the transit line from Los Angeles to San Francisco (or wherever they decide) with the help from this conglomerate.

We will continue to update as we learn more details on this. In the meantime, you can learn more about Hyperloop One's technology and equipment here.
