To keep up with a technologically evolving world, mining companies are investing in ways to make operations more automated and less reliant on man-power. Rio Tinto is no exception; its Yandicoogina and Nammuldi mines have just become the first in the world to carry out all iron ore transport via driverless trucks.

Robots are increasingly taking roles traditionally performed by people in a wide range of sectors.
