The founder of Tesla Motors and Space Exploration Technologies announced that in the near future he may work to develop an all-electric supersonic jet that could take off and land vertically.
Elon Musk said that supersonic air travel, exceeding the speed of sound using an electric-powered jet that could take off and land without the need for a long runway, was the ‘ultimate form of transport.’
‘If somebody doesn't do that, maybe at some point in the future, I will,’ Musk, 42, said during a YouTube video chat with a group of technology entrepreneurs on Thursday.
